Description

Global Accessibility Awareness Day 2017

We're pleased to announce our 3rd annual Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) event at Atos on the 18th May 2017, between 10:00 and 16:30 at our London Business Technology Innovation Centre in Triton Square. The event is free but registartion is required. Numbers are limited this year so don't delay!

Global Accessibility Awareness Day is a community driven event, the goal of which is to dedicate one day to introducing the topic of and raising the profile of Accessibility and people with different abilities to the broadest audience possible. While many of the associated events focus solely on Digital Accessibility and the developer community, the Atos event covers a number of other associated Accessibility themes such as Inclusion policy & strategies, accessible transport and connected cities.

Last year’s event was extremely well received and we’re confident this year will be bigger, better and even more informative. This year will have a large cross-section of the accessibility community presenting — with representatives from the government, industry, financial services, academic and user communities — so it promises to be a fascinating day. Key speakers include:

  • Rachael Neaman (Director of Neaman Consulting and Non-Executive Member of the Advisory Board of Digital Health London formerly CEO of GO-On the leading Digital Skills Charity).

  • Dan Brooke (Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, Channel 4 – UK Government Accessibility Champion for Media).

  • Hector Minto (Senior Technology Evangelist (Accessibility) at Microsoft UK).

Accessibility and Inclusion are key to engaging with the interlinked Disability and population ageing megatrends that will affect successful organisations both from an employee perspective and from a consumer segment perspective - with the global consumer segment comprised of more than one billion people and $1.3 trillion in annual disposable income.

Please join us to learn more about why Accessibility matters, the impact of present & coming regulations and see demonstrations of how delivering inclusive & accessible technology drives innovation and value for organisations and their customers.

In addition, there will be demonstrations of the latest technology and plenty of opportunities to network with other executives and potential customers with an interest in Accessibility and Inclusion, renew old friendships and make new ones.
